Lazarus, who lived in a dirty barn stall for six years, is finally getting a new beginning after a remarkable grooming transformation that removed 35 pounds of matted fur from his fluffy body. He can now enjoy a fresh start.
Amanda Brooke Charsha-Lindsey, a devoted member of the Big Fluffy Dog Rescue organization, recently posted an uplifting picture on her Facebook page featuring Lazarus. The photo displayed the awe-inspiring transformation brought about by Candice Skelton, the skilled groomer who took on the challenging task of cleaning up Lazarus, who had been locked up in a barn stall for six long years. Skelton’s meticulous efforts involved shaving off the matted hair that had accumulated on Lazarus’ body. The striking before-and-after images showcased the astounding change in Lazarus’ appearance, making him almost unidentifiable. Charsha-Lindsey also shared videos that documented Lazarus’ progress and provided a detailed account of his story.
When Lazarus was being groomed, he appeared to be fearful at first. However, as the excess hair was removed, he became more calm and peaceful in his behavior. According to Lindsey, Lazarus was not used to human touch, but with some time and tasty treats, he quickly became comfortable with them.
Lazarus, who now lives in Big Fluffy Dog Rescue, a non-profit organization, is currently being fostered in Virginia. He will be staying there for a few weeks or months until he is ready to be adopted into a permanent forever family.
According to the founder of Big Fluffy Dog Rescue, Jean Harrison, Lazarus is getting used to his new life. She shared that although they were momentarily saddened by his cautious behavior around a freshly grilled steak, he quickly caught on and showed an enthusiastic appreciation for the meal.
Lazarus, the newly rescued dog, has already shown his loving and kind nature in a short period of time. His rescuer, Harrison, can’t help but feel touched by the idea of Lazarus being grateful for his rescue. However, Harrison hopes for the day when Lazarus won’t have to rely on gratitude and instead claim all the love and care he deserves without any shadows from his past hardships and suffering.
