Fifty, a Pit Bull, was bred to be of service to others. His mother was saved by a generous family while she was still pregnant. Among his siblings, Fifty was chosen by his adoptive family. He had a happy life with his owners and fellow dog companion, Izzy. Unfortunately, something unexpected happened.
When a patrolling officer spotted Fifty, he panicked and fired at the poor pup’s right limbs. Despite being known to be a gentle and kind dog, Fifty fell victim to the all-too-common prejudice against Pit Bulls. Unfortunately, this incident left Fifty with life-altering injuries, as both of his right legs had to be amputated due to gunshot wounds.
As Fifty was getting a hold of his balance on his two legs, fate dealt him another blow. His owners were unable to keep him and his companion Izzy due to losing their home in the recession. For Fifty, it was like starting over from scratch as he lost the only source of stability he had in his life.
Despite facing such uncertainties, Fifty chose to rise above his circumstances and discovered a remarkable trait within himself. Determined not to be a victim, he set his sights on rebuilding his life.
At the beginning, he relied on walls to stand up and often stumbled. However, his perseverance and determination paid off as he worked hard to regain his ability to walk and run normally! Eventually, after spending 9 months in the shelter, Fifty was able to find his forever home where he is now happy and loved.
As soon as he met his new family and furry siblings, he knew he had found love and a forever home. From that moment on, he promised to be a good boy and bring joy to their lives every day. He quickly adapted to his new life, which was filled with lots of thrilling expeditions and snuggle times.
Fifty’s adoptive parents are dedicated foster carers, and he has embraced the role of being a loving foster brother to other rescue dogs who need a temporary home. He understands what it’s like to be in their shoes and wants to help them feel safe and loved until they find their own forever families.
Despite facing challenges like disability and unexpected setbacks, Fifty is a remarkable survivor who has stood strong throughout his life.
