Shakira surprised everyone during an interview at the 2023 Billboard Latin Music Awards.
In a rather unexpected confession, the singer revealed that her team had urged her to modify the suggestive words in her hit song which includes Bizarrap.
During a conversation, Shakira spoke her mind and expressed her annoyance with her team. She made it clear that she sees herself as an artist rather than a United Nations diplomat, and requested that everyone respect her need for some personal space.
“I feel like a wounded wild creature as a woman,” she stated, referring to her highly publicized split with former footballer Pique. “Many individuals thought I was crazy.”
Shakira has revealed that she received advice to modify the lyrics of her song as it directly blamed her former partner. The song addressed his betrayal and abuse towards her, specifically naming Clara Chia.
The female individual hailing from Colombia conveyed her present emotional state as being “extremely motivated” and continues to possess a deep fondness towards her profession, affirming that she is “enamored” with it.
According to Shakira, there were instances where she found it challenging to motivate herself to step into the studio. However, music became her ultimate source of comfort as she found that it had a therapeutic effect on her emotions. Surprisingly enough, she shared that she typically writes more during times when she’s feeling down.
